Schocklender charged. On 15 May Federal Judge Norberto Oyarbide formally charged Sergio Schoklender, the former right-hand man of Hebe de Bonafini (head of Madres de Plaza de Mayo), with embezzlement and criminal conspiracy in relation to the so-called ‘viviendagate' (housing gate), a scandal which broke
in May last year. According to an accusation signed by public prosecutor Jorge Di Lello, some Arg$25m (US$5.6m) were embezzled. Judge Oyarbide also handed down similar charges to Schoklender’s brother, Pablo, and accountant Alexander Gotkin ordering the arrest of all of them.
