DR begins preparations to host Sica summit

Having formally joined the Sistema de Integración Centroamericana (Sica) sub-regional economic and political integration body last year, the Dominican Republic (DR) last month took over the six-month pro-tempore presidency from Panama. This means the Dominican government led by President Danilo Medina is now in charge of setting and driving the organisation’s agenda from now until the end of June.
