Panama organises successful World Economic Forum meeting

Panama welcomed over 600 international business and political leaders on 1-3 April as it became the first Central American country to host the annual meeting of the Latin America regional chapter of the World Economic Forum (WEF). While the event was not attended by the most prominent regional leaders, bar Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto, it nonetheless proved to be a success for the outgoing government led by President Ricardo Martinelli.
