Ecuador concluded a second round of negotiations with the European Union (EU) in the northern coastal city of Manta in late March. Ecuador’s foreign trade minister, Francisco Rivadeneira, said significant progress had been made on access to markets, goods and services and public procurement and intellectual property rights, possibly the most sensitive issue being discussed.
