BRAZIL: Everything to play for

The start of the month-long FIFA World Cup championship in Brazil on 12 June will have a ratchet effect on another big contest: the Brazilian presidential elections in October. Football will not drive politics, but it will certainly leave some indelible bootprints on it. It is during the next 30 days that the fate of President Dilma Rousseff’s bid for re-election could well be settled.
