ECONOMY: A pragmatic rapprochement

Before the latest US Supreme Court ruling, Argentina’s gradual rapprochement with international capital markets had been welcomed both at home and abroad. Argentina’s slow and partial move back to a degree of economic orthodoxy received support from the IMF in late May, when it acknowledged that the country had improved its inflation and GDP data: the Fund, however, noted that further actions are required by end-September and by end-February 2015.
