The leader of the right-wing opposition Movimiento Creo Creando Oportunidades, Guillermo Lasso, would win a presidential contest in which President Rafael Correa was barred from taking part, a national opinion survey published in June by Cedatos suggested. Lasso topped the survey, which included 10 possible candidates, including prominent politicians within the ruling Alianza País (AP).
