Coup de grace delivered to Arellano Félix gang
On 24 June the Mexican government confirmed the arrest of Fernando ‘El Ingeniero’ Sánchez Arellano, the presumptive leader of the Arellano Félix (Tijuana) drug trafficking gang. Sánchez is believed to be the last member of the Arellano Félix clan actively involved in the drugs trade and his downfall could mark the ultimate demise of the once-powerful criminal organisation.
