CUBA-US: Another covert USAID operation unveiled
A third covert operation by US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Cuba has come to light. Timewise it overlapped the other two: the ill-fated smuggling of computer equipment and satellite phones by Alan Gross and the Zunzuneo (or ‘Cuban Twitter’) scheme to bombard Cubans with custom-made text messages. This third one started by inserting Latin American ‘consultants’ to build up and motivate youth groups expected to replicate and become ‘masters of their own destiny’
