Uruguay’s ruling FA toughens up its act

Uruguay’s ruling left-wing Frente Amplio (FA) coalition has been caught on the hop by the speed with which Luis Lacalle Pou, of the centre-right Partido Nacional (PN; Blancos) has emerged as a serious threat to its aspirations to win a third consecutive term in power in general elections on 26 October.
