MEXICO-US | Tamaulipas mayor & police accused. Another incident of purported local police and municipal authority involvement in a kidnapping and murder has been claimed, this time in the border state of Tamaulipas and involving three Mexican Americans. On 28 October Tamaulipas state authorities announced the discovery of four charred bodies near Matamoros. Three of these were identified the following day as the US-born children of Raquel Alvarado, a resident of Progreso, Texas, who had gone missing after having travelled to visit their father in Tamaulipas.
