Mexico, US avert a ‘sugar war’

After months of negotiations, authorities in the US and Mexico have reached an agreement on Mexican sugar exports to the US, ending a dispute that threatened a trade war between the two. A deal was reached just before the US was due to start charging punitive duties on sugar imports from Mexico.
