POLITICS: Gearing up for March

President Evo Morales is seeking to consolidate his convincing victory in the 12 October general election [RA-14-10] with a follow-up success in local (departmental and municipal) elections scheduled for 29 March 2015. The ruling Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) won in eight of Bolivia’s nine departments in October, (losing only in Beni), but local elections tend to favour smaller local-issue parties.
