POLITICS: The spectre of corruption

On 8 November the fugitive businessman Martin Belaunde Lossío told Peruvian media that he would not go to jail “for free”. Belaunde Lossío has been accused of running a corruption ring involving senior members of President Ollanta Humala’s leftist political vehicle, Partido Nacionalista Peruano (PNP).
