Landmark congress on Aymara language and culture

The first international congress of Aymara Language and Culture took place on 12-14 November in Bolivia where, along with the Quechua, the Aymara are one of Bolivia’s main indigenous groups. The congress was held months after various academics warned that the indigenous language – which is spoken in Bolivia, Peru and Chile– was at risk of disappearing.
