Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe stepped down this week. The move was not entirely a surprise. His departure was one of the main recommendations of a report issued by a presidential advisory commission tasked with finding ways to end the current political crisis caused by the failure to hold long overdue legislative and municipal elections [WR-14-48].
