The government led by President Michelle Bachelet has hailed the launch of a new solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Chile’s Antofagasta Region, which will be the biggest in the world. In her election campaign Bachelet committed to promoting non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE) as part of the efforts to address Chile’s longstanding energy deficit.
