El Salvador: New gang truce met with scepticism

Development: On 23 January Raúl Mijango, a former deputy for El Salvador’s ruling Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN), told reporters that the latest truce announced by the country’s two main street gangs, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and Mara-18 (M-18), on 17 January, was a “sign of goodwill”.
