Argentina: Initial results show strong opposition showing in Paso
Development: On 20 April, as results were still coming through, the opposition centre-right Propuesta Republicana (PRO) candidate was comfortably leading in Argentina’s simultaneous and open primaries (Paso) in Santa Fe province, while in Mendoza province the candidate for the coalition led by the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), Gana Mendoza, was also comfortably beating the candidates from the nationally ruling Frente para la Victoria (FPV, Kirchneristas)faction of the Partido Justicialista (PJ, Peronists).
