POLITICS: Arrest of Vaccari leaves the PT in disarray

It is unusual, to say the least, to find many similarities in the headlines of Veja, a rightwing anti-government weekly magazine, and Carta Capital, that rare beast among the Brazilian mainstream media, a broadly pro-government publication. But both, from their very different perspectives, have recently questioned the future of the left-wing ruling Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) following the arrest and detention of its treasurer, João Vaccari Neto, over the corruption scandal at the state oil company Petrobras.
