Colombian army claims two major blows against the Farc

One of the most vital units of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) guerrillas, the 27th ‘front’ (F27) which operates in Colombia’s department of Meta, has been “irreversibly weakened”, according to the commander of the army’s Omega force, General Luis Fernando Navarro. The F27, also known as the ‘Frente Isaías Pardo Leal’, is believed to be responsible for obtaining funds for the Farc’s Eastern Bloc from trafficking in cocaine paste base and extortion.
