Development: On 5 May Peru’s interior minister, José Luis Pérez Guadalupe, reported that one person had been killed and two more had been seriously in about of clashes between the national police (PNP) and protesters opposed to the ‘Tía María’ copper mining project in the town of Mollendo, Arequipa region.
