POLITICS: The MUD – struggling for unity

The opposition umbrella coalition, Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), comprising 29 parties from across the political spectrum, is struggling to maintain unity ahead of the mid term legislative elections due by year-end, in which it aims to secure a majority in the unicameral National Assembly, weakening the grip of the ruling Partido Unido Socialista de Venezuela (PSUV).
