COLOMBIA | Fewer people displaced by violence. One positive effect of the peace negotiations between the government and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (Farc) has been the sharp fall in the number of people displaced by the conflict and other acts of violence. This emerges from a study conducted by the UARIV, the official unit for the attention and reparations for victims, released on 8 May. All told, 6.2m people were forced to leave their homes.
