Over 200,000 people took to the streets of cities around Argentina on 3 June to protest against the murder of women. The movement, which rallied around the slogan ‘Ni Una Menos’ (Not One Less), was organised on social media by a group of Argentine journalists, writers, and artists, appalled at the death of Chiara Páez, a 14-year-old girl whose body was found buried in the garden of her 16-year-old boyfriend’s house on 11 May. The marches took place in over 80 cities and were the biggest civil demonstrations in several years.
