BOLIVIA-PERU: Cocaine airbridge neutralised; llamas become mules

Bolivia claims that, acting jointly with Peru, it has managed to ‘neutralise’ the cocaine airbridge. Peru’s contribution has been to continue destroying clandestine airstrips and relaying to Bolivia information about detected flights; Bolivia has been seizing suspect aircraft on the ground and arresting local participants in the traffic. In the process the Peruvian authorities appear to have detected a shift in the location of their end of the airbridge, and in a separate development their Bolivian peers have discovered a new means of overland traffic: llamas.
