Calheiros, from the nominally government-allied Partido do Movimento Democrático Brasileiro (PMDB), expressed indignation at recent swoops on the homes of former president Fernando Collor de Mello (1990-1992), from the Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro (PTB); Fernando Bezerra Coehlo, from the Partido Socialista Brasileiro (PSB), and Ciro Nogueira, from the Partido Progressista (PP).
