MEXICO: SEDENA opts for ‘transparency’ in new incident

A second case of suspected multiple extrajudicial executions has prompted the defence ministry to adopt a ‘full transparency’ policy, announcing that it had ‘identified indications of probable participation of military personnel’ in the incident. This came within days of an attempt to discredit evidence that the military involved in the killing of 22 people in Tlatlaya, had been given specific orders to ‘bring down’ criminals in after-dark operations.
