ARGENTINA: New intelligence doctrine targets ‘economic aggression’

Since 7 July Argentina has a new state intelligence agency and a new ‘doctrine of national intelligence’ which adopts the notion of ‘economic aggression’ frequently invoked by Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro. The new Agencia Federal de Inteligencia (AFI) replaces the Secretaría de Inteligencia (SI) which is being portrayed as a body in which actions were initiated autonomously by each intelligence agency.’
