VENEZUELA: Maduro lashes out at ‘Colombian paramilitary’ threat
In the second week of July, under a new public security plan named Operación de Liberación del Pueblo (OLP; ‘Operation for the Liberation of the People’), more than 2,500 police officers and members of the national guard (GNB) conducted a series of raids in two districts of Caracas ― Cota 905 in the west and Ciudad Tiuna in the southwest, next to the Fuerte Tiuna military compound ― and in three municipalities of Aragua state ― Camatagua, San Casimiro and Urdaneta ― and the Valles del Tuy area of Miranda state.
