POLITICS: Morales a step closer to seeking a third term

Bolivia’s plurinational 166-member bicameral legislature, in which the ruling Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS] has a two thirds majority, has approved a legislative bill amending the 2009 constitution to allow Evo Morales – Bolivia’s longest serving president - to seek another five year term in 2019. The initiative now goes to a popular referendum in February 2016.
