ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES: Opposition still challenging fourth election defeat

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) likes continuity. Between 1984 and 1998 the centrist opposition New Democratic Party (NDP), now led by Arnhim Eustace, won four consecutive elections. Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves has now repeated that feat for the Unity Labour Party (ULP) by securing an 8 seats to 7 victory in the 9 December general election (the same winning margin as in 2010). The NDP, however, is refusing to accept that its fourth consecutive defeat was achieved fairly.
