BOLIVIA ECONOMY: Seeking to address falling oil prices

President Evo Morales this month announced a special summit would take place to address the continued fall in oil prices. His announcement comes as global oil prices reached less than US$30 per barrel (/b) this month - the lowest levels since 2004 - prompting renewed economic concerns for oil-producing nations, not least Bolivia, where the hydrocarbons sector accounts for nearly 50% of the country’s exports.
