VENEZUELA HUMAN RIGHTS: HRW report slams Maduro government

The US-based NGO, Human Rights Watch (HRW), is scathing of the government led by President Nicolás Maduro in its latest World Report (2016), released on 27 January. The Caracas government routinely dismisses the NGO as a pawn of the ‘imperial’ US government, nevertheless the report may add to the mounting internal and external political pressure on Maduro.
