REGION | Pilot plan to address Cuban migrant crisis hailed a success. Representatives from Mexico and the Central American integration system (Sica) – which comprises Costa Rica, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Panama – met in Guatemala City on 20 January to evaluate the pilot programme launched on 12 January to address the crisis caused by the surge in Cuban migrants seeking to reach the US via Central America [SSR-15-12].
