Sica joins forces to fight Zika

This month the Honduran government, which currently holds the pro-temporary presidency of the Central American integration system (Sica), called an extraordinary meeting to discuss a common strategy in order to address the emergency posed by the outbreak of the Zika virus. The move enables the eight Sica members (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic) to join forces to counteract this global threat and, in the process, promote greater integration within the sub-region.
