This time Bachelet was on holiday by Lake Caburga when she discovered that Cristián Riquelme, the administrator of the La Moneda presidential palace and a member of her inner circle, had resigned on 17 February on similar grounds. The scandal not only undermines her anti-corruption rhetoric but also exposes her lack of decisive leadership.
