VENEZUELA POLITICS: Almost two thirds of Venezuelans want Maduro out

Almost two thirds of Venezuelans – 63.6% - think Nicolás Maduro’s presidency should end this year, according to a recent survey of 1,000 households by respected local pollsters Datanálisis. And over half of the electorate - 52.6% - would vote to remove him in a presidential recall referendum, up from 44.5% in January. However, it is very unclear that the push by the opposition Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD) for a recall referendum will get past the various obstacles, legal or other, likely to be thrown in its path by the ruling left-wing Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV).
