BRAZIL: Digging in for a war of attrition

President Dilma Rousseff will not resign. Instead, she will use every means at her disposal to stay in office. Given the flimsy legal basis of the current impeachment proceedings in the federal congress, and the self-interested, non-ideological nature of the politicians who will decide her fate, this could result in a protracted battle for power that could cause further damage to Brazil’s flailing economy.
