MEXICO: Mixed picture on peace trend

Mexico became 0.3% more peaceful in 2015, according to the Mexico Peace Index (MPI) compiled by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), an annual report that has been published every year since 2007. Not everyone may agree that “peace” can be reduced to a single numerical index, but the MPI at least has the virtue of consistently tracking a number of important security indicators.
