The process of appointing a new ambassador to Mexico has finally been completed in the US. Such was the protracted nature of the appointment of Roberta Jacobson, who was confirmed by the US Senate more than nine months after her nomination, that the Mexican government replaced its ambassador to the US twice in the interim.
