PARAGUAY POLITICS: Secondary students take government to task

Not content with forcing the departure of the head of the education and culture ministry (MEC), Paraguayan secondary students are continuing to maintain pressure on the government led by President Horacio Cartes to tackle official corruption and improve the country’s deficient education system. Students are continuing to mobilise in order to demand that the government addresses their various demands, which centre on increasing education spending so as to combat the dearth of school infrastructure.
