PARAGUAY POLITICS & ECONOMICS: Tackling problems at Petropar

Following the change at the top of Paraguay’s state-owned oil firm, Petropar, its new leadership is having to deal with two major problems plaguing the firm: corruption in the awarding of supply contracts and the servicing of its existing debts. Further complicating matters, resolving these two issues involves dealing with foreign governments, making them much more politically delicate.
