BRAZIL POLITICS: Struggling Temer starts to find his feet

Three ministers forced to resign in a little over a month, and Brazil’s interim president Michel Temer himself accused of soliciting off-the-books campaign funding. It’s not been a good start to the Temer administration, and with prosecutors involved in ‘Operation Car Wash’, the investigation into corruption at the state-run oil firm Petrobras, promising further investigative phases to come, the government could be rocked by yet further instability. Yet there are now signs that the Temer government is finding its feet, and taking the first tentative steps towards a coherent set of policy proposals.
