MEXICO: Looking for new ideas on security

The latest round of state-level elections were held in Mexico in 5 June, with a total of 12 governorships changing hands; they come after a rotation involving the election of nine new governors last year. Looming over all these local elections are preparations for presidential and general elections due in 2018. As the political parties position themselves for a long-running campaign over the next two years, one of the key questions is whether any new thinking over security policies is beginning to emerge.
