ST LUCIA | NEW GOVERNMENT TO END SECURITY ISOLATION. Once again, St Lucia has not participated in the annual Tradewinds maritime exercise which began in Grenada on 5 June. Exercise Tradewinds is a US-backed exercise that supports the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI). This year’s exercise has three phases: Phase I comprises land and sea operations in Grenada from 5-14 June; Phase II, land and sea operations in Jamaica from 20-28 June; and Phase III, a seminar for key leaders from 20-22 July in Miami.
