DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Education – a pending issue facing Medina

A significant number of students in the Dominican Republic (DR) still do not achieve an acceptable level of learning. This is the main finding of a new study conducted by the Acción Empresarial por la Educación (Educa), a local NGO, which was released on 7 July. Improving the quality of education in the DR will clearly be one of the main challenges facing President Danilo Medina in his second term following his re-election for another four-year term in May.
