Ten of Peru’s ‘most-wanted’ criminals have been captured in the space of three months since the introduction of a new reward system. On 28 June Carlos Bazán Castro, one of the presumed masterminds of the murder of Francisco Ariza Espinoza, the mayor of Samanco in the northernmost region of Ancash who was assassinated in October 2015, became the tenth man.
