URUGUAY: Where’s Diyab?

One of six former detainees held at the US military detention facility in Guantánamo, Cuba, who were admitted to Uruguay as refugees in December 2014, has gone missing. There are fears that the man, Jihad Diyab, may have crossed illegally into Brazil, and could pose a security threat to the Olympic Games due to be held in Rio de Janeiro in August. There is also some confusion over his exact status, and of the terms of the deal that brought him to Uruguay in the first place.
