BOLIVIA: Press freedom concerns grow

Last month, a local journalist, Amalia Pando, revealed that she had approached the Inter American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) to request protection following “threats” from government officials. Her claims are the latest in a series of incidents which have subject the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) government led by President Evo Morales to criticism and concerns regarding the freedom of expression within the country.
